From dimmers to DMX, conventional fixtures to intelligent lighting, it can feel overwhelming at times. The growing library of video notebooks offers lessons from experts in the field. From creating a simple lighting wash to designing a full concert experience users can access each video where it’s needed, when it’s needed.
This notebook starts from the beginning, providing the basic understanding of terminology, typical fixtures and standard lighting techniques.
In this notebook we take a deeper look at the ideal fixtures used to light a subject on a stage. We’ll learn about the various control attributes associated with each fixture and how to best deploy them.
Building on the principles we learned in, Lighting a Subject, we expand our scope to learn how to properly light a stage, once again using three-point lighting techniques while also looking at zone lighting and stage terminology.
